Integrated product design

Theeleggers

Theeleggers is my Bachelor's graduation project, and even though I have grown much as a designer since then, it is still the project that is closest to me.

Theeleggers are little booklets attached to HEMA's teabags, so there is a little peaceful moment of reading during your tea together with a great chance for young writers to promote their work.

I made it to the finalists of the HEMA design contest in 2019 and got to present my idea at their headquarters.

Theria

In a design team with six students, we partnered up with Yumen Bionics to create a game controller for men with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Since these men find their muscle strength reduced over their disease progression a special controller had to be designed.

The controller has a pod that holds the electronics that can be placed in different outer shapes with a silicone skin. In this project, I prototyped this silicone skin, streamlined the electronics and software and was responsible for the visualization.

TegelToon

The TegelToon was a design I did for the course Advanced Concept design during my master's. In partnership with Bovatin, the tiling trade union of the Netherlands. The design was meant to relieve strain on the tilers back during their work.

I designed an aluminium hand truck/workbench combination that would help the tiler move their tools and keep these at a comfortable working height, reducing the amount of bending in an average working day.
